Blue Origin
How’s Blue Origin as a company? Is it a good time to join? #blue-origin
Not in Seattle but have a phone screen coming up for them, was thinking about taking a position there and then leapfrogging to amazon or somewhere else. What’s the TC like at BO? To me it sounds slightly worse than Boeing
My understanding is from a salary point the TC is better, but you end up working a lot more hours resulting in a wash or maybe in worse per hr rate and stress. Dependent on role I guess. Good to have someone from Blue speak to that.
Yeah for me being in a LCOL area and getting paid pretty well around 90 for 1.5 yoe I would be very surprised if BO could beat my rate, especially since I work 40 and I’m out
Blue is the only company in the Seattle area that keeps pinging me, but I’m avoiding at the moment. My friends tell me bad WLB culture from Amazon combined with mismanagement leaking in from bad prior Boeing managers. Their missions sounds cool, but what I’m trying to change right now at Boeing is the terrible short gains management culture and if they’re all running to Blue Origin, that’s very disappointing to hear.
What you heard is pretty accurate. Greatly depends on your direct manager but overall BO is going through a long and painful culture change.
