I like the fact that they are doing a company wide shutdown rather than Microsoft style 5 wellness days you can take whenever you want(in 2021). It’s pretty useless because everybody else is working and when you are back you see a lot of pings on teams asking if you are joining the meeting even when you have out of office marked. And managers asking for status of the work because they forgot you can’t make progress during a holiday. https://cointelegraph.com/news/coinbase-announces-nearly-the-entire-company-will-shut-down-for-four-weeklong-breaks-in-2022-to-allow-workers-to-recharge/amp 👏🏻👏🏻
Sweeeeeet!
How is this good PR? CEO says they regularly work over 40 hours Having done it all, I would prefer less PTO if it meant 0 pressure to work over 40 If you continually run people on 60+ hours they’ll still burn out
I am jealous
Nice
Coinbase seems like a cool company to work for. But it sounds like they burn out their team:(
What is CB PTO policy? Is this four weeks on top of PTO?
They’re encouraging ppl to take PTO during these 4 weeks. Basically they are just dictating peoples PTO
But you have to work 80 hours a week. It's really just make up time for all the OT we do while selling this to unsuspecting candidates. We can't hire fast enough which is why everyone here is overworked. And while we would like more people to join to alleviate the workload, I can't in good conscience recommend people to join with a little warning. Forget TC because most get burnt out before their first year.
I like that.
Cool
a bruh moment. It is 1 week/quarter....
Wow, kudos to the execs who made this decision.
It's apparently hell on Earth there otherwise. They needed the 4 weeks cause you're not allowed vacation any other time
