Can someone from FB please explain how the 401k matching works at FB? I read somewhere that FB matches 50% up to 7% of base. Say may base is 100k. So matching is at most 3.5k, correct? What if my base is 300k? Will the matching be 11.5K (50% of 21k) or it gets capped due to 18.5k IRS limit so that the max match will be 9.25k? Also, what does 4 year vesting mean for 401k? If you leave before that, they take money out of your 401k? Thanks.
What kind of dummy are you? Do the damn math
Who selected him in Facebook???? Seems no good people want to join Facebook 😜
I’m sorry but if you don’t work for a top tier company your opinion isn’t worth a dime. What’s an upgrade anyway?
How do u define top tier? U work in a sexist company??? 😀😀😀yeah. Top tier. Where is ur original cto btw. Uber engineers have words which counts 😎
Op, you have it right. The match is capped to 50% of min(7% of salary, 18500). No vesting period, the money is yours as soon as it is earned.
Thank you!
You forgot bonus...
Matches are not subject to the IRS limit. Your contributions are
Well by default they then are subject to IRS limit. You can’t match what you can’t put in
If your base at FB is 300k then you don’t need to worry about money anymore
How difficult is it get a base of 300k at FB? Seriously, I am curious.
Maybe E8?
Is the 401k match prorated ? If I join in June will they only contribute 7 months of the total limit ?
did you get the answer to this?
It's the type of question where if you bothered to Google it, you'd see that employer match is not counted toward the annual individual contribution limit.
Yup, fair enough. I reread it now. Sorry for being snarky.
