Why would Universal Basic Income work ?
I was recently offered a Sr. Electrical Engineer position at Lucid. The offer is $140k base + $60k RSU vesting over 2 years, and $10k relocation. I have over 5 years of experience and will be relocating from a lower COL area. Is this a good offer? I was hoping for around $170k base. Also, they recently laid off about 18% of the workforce and being on a work visa, I’m a little nervous about long term job security.
Which location?
Newark, CA
This is a decent offer, but some room for negotiation I’d say. Try to get to $250 k +
Lol
Lol not at lucid
This is not a good package for a Sr. Electrical Engineer especially in the bay. Please negotiate much higher
Thats about what a sr engineer makes. They bring you in for a lower value first and then quickly give a raise atleast in pwt (assuming pwt because electrical ?) . RSU is lower because a lot of people got in at 100k rsu when the stock was at 13/14$/share. For your negotiation i would ask for 150k base and 80k rsu. Or ask higher and land at these numbers. 170k is the next grade pay range. You can go upto 160 ish as a Sr engineer.
Yea, I would definitely ask for more RSUs
Shitty company don’t join you’ll hate it!!!!!
A fresh grad straight out of college gets 140k at Google. It's not a lot of money
I think you should look at how much apartments/homes cost in the area and then decide.
why not 4 years?is it changed recently?
Changed for new hires a year and a half ago
So RSU is negotiable during the offer process?
Wow the RSU portion looks really low, especially if this is for Bay Area
I don’t have a good feel for what a good Bay Area package is.
