How is cloudflare doing?

Would love to understand how the company is doing and whether I should buy some stocks or not.

"hey cloudflare employees, do some insider trading with me" Or "Hey blind users, I'm too lazy to actually look into my investments do the research for me"

Not investment or legal advice. Culture and morale is bad. Do what you want with that info alone. At least 60% of folks are looking to get out. Too many silent mass firings.

Spoke to a recruiter who is trying to recruit me for a senior sales position. They mentioned the current sales force wasn’t experienced enough to sell large deals to help reach the $5B target. Do you think that this is why the culture and morale is bad or for other reasons?

Not in sales but I have worked with sales team bunch of times. I think there is some truth to it, but Cloudflare has a history of finger pointing at sales which does not help. They’ve been using this narrative for over 2 years so clearly by now it’s not a talent issue, it’s an enablement and sales tool issue. CEO does not like sales people and refuses to invest in the proper tools to help them. He thinks the products should sell themselves, but that is not true for the products they are currently selling in this day in time. It’s also not true for an enterprise buyer. Finger pointing and the constant ushering out of people does not help morale. I’m sure you saw the whole tik tok too of the layoff (even though they won’t admit it’s a layoff. People exceeding quota by 140% were also let go). Most of the products they give away for free/super cheap without any usage limits, meaning the only benefit of getting an enterprise product is phone support/SLAs. I understand the need for free but they just give way too much away still on new products they launch. They have been slashing benefits as well, health insurance took a dive and people left in droves because of that. Still no 401k match (not even remotely on a radar, even if recruiter says it is or says the HSA is like a mini 401k, yes lol, this is how they sell it). $5B is not achievable anytime soon in my opinion, the products outside of CDN are not high revenue. Worked with someone in product and it’s widely known that the products today outside of cdn are not high revenue. They are high margin, but not high revenue. I think in time they will realize the only efficient way they can sell is to hand the mid market over to the channel partners to sell, and have sales team do enterprise only. I’d bet on that. Do what you want with this info, just don’t want to see people get burned. I left two weeks ago (engineering) after 3 years. Benefits and paltry raise was my final straw.
