I got following offers: tc/base/rsu-4yrs/signon FB E4: 275/150/300/50 Google T4: 290/140/400/50 Lyft T4: Uber T4: Twitter Senior: 305/170/500/10 Oracle bmc principal: Still waiting for numbers, but I dont think money would be much different for either of them. All are in Seattle. What would you chose? I am comfused making decision based on company reputation vs career level.
Google or Facebook if you are optimizing for life style and pay. Oracle if only optimizing for pay. Amazon if you want to learn. Uber / Twitter Seattle have had a lot of churn and have mixed rep.
Limit it to Google, Facebook, and Amazon. Uber is Game of Thrones, Twitter is the slowest sinking ship, and no ever gave a shit about what goes on in Oracle
Agree. Oracle has started throwing around crazy 💰 in Seattle. Beating other big companies by a lot to compete for talent and make up for their reputation.
I would correct your username
Google or lyft > fb

How did you prepare and how was the difficulty compared to leetcode. How many leetcode? I have interviews with all of them in 4 weeks 😭
leetcode paid subscription: 100 easy, 100 medium, 25 hard based on popularity; grokking the system design for system design
I am at 8/17/2.. ways to go.. but thoroughly enjoying it.. :)
I just genuinely want to know this, but are you married and/or have kids? How did you have time to do that many leetcode questions and work and have time for family??
Married but no kids. It took me 6 months to come to this stage. I enjoy solving leetcode type problems, so I kept myself motivated. Spent about 30 minutes on weekdays, and more time on weekends. I did not miss out on family time, holidays or vacations. My advice is don’t worry about the time much, start with 30 minutes a day, you will get there.
For 30 mins per day thing, when you solve a problem what is the approach? Spend some time to think about solution if you cannot get solution then go look at it and implement?
Did you take extended leave and scheduled all interviews then ? 6 interviews + phone screens + some more for which results would not be out by now I guess - how did you manage ?
I did PS in the morning or around lunch time in office or late evenings. For onsites, took multiple wfh on friday(no one works much on friday so no one notices), sick leave, doctor appointment, package delivery etc. Also took 3 day pto in a row. I spaced out my onsites in 3 months, staring with easy ones.
Didn’t the companies pressure you to decide? How did you drag it for three months?
You must have TC numbers now if you started 3 months ago? Please share.
