Is compensation competitive at Walt Disney Company? What is the comp structure? I’m interested in a mid-management role (reports to senior manager) on the corporate/support side of the company based in NY.
Tldr: no its not competitive. Its not a tech company. However depending on the PA, it might be a pretty fun experience. My pay was 50% of what i get paid now but met really smart awesome people. My PA moved faster than Google. I heard disney+ is super slow so depends on the team.
Can you give some hard numbers for base salary? I'm considering going the management route (senior software engineer now).
Target compensation is 50% of the market. I work in HR at D+ in NY
Can you give some examples for tech managers?
No, no and no
Software Dev Manager TC around 350k in LA area. It's not FAANG/Tech level, but it's enough for me .
No. They only really compete with other tv networks in NY because it’s a lucrative “fun” job compared to working in banking. You go there for stability and wlb, not high comp. And Manager only requires a couple years of experience and pays accordingly low.
A manager role is not mid-management. In most cases, you won’t have direct reports or maybe 1 or so. It’s one step above entry level coordinator. No, media does not pay that well but this depends on your expectations. This isn’t tech. Glassdoor salaries are pretty accurate for this one.
