Anyone been hearing news of no bonuses for juniors?
Obviously with HSBC announcing no bonuses everyones a little curious, heard rumors of JP Morgan not giving bonuses. Any other banks hearing of things?
Any sources for these announcements?
Anyway it sounds like bunk. Why would banks announce no bonus so early in the cycle.. It'd obviously push people to leave without repercussion
Thats what I was thinking. But it could be them wanting people to quit instead of laying off and paying severance? That would be pretty far fetched but I wouldn’t put it past some sketchy places. Who knows.
Agreed it would be crazy to announce that so early. Don't want top performers leaving.

That would be disappointing for so many people, but also an opportunity for people to GTFO ASAP. Why would they announce this so early? Unless they’re trying to get people to leave on their own so they don’t have to pay severance?
it's probably too early to make such announcements - the total impact of Covid is unknown and it'd just hurt people's morale.
