I am thinking of applying to Lockheed Martin for a better software role since I don’t think I’ll be able to get into tech as of right now (still need to study up LC and algorithms). I wanted to ask if any blinders can talk about how they are liking their software roles (embedded software) if there are any. And if you would choose the Sunnyvale or Fort Worth location. Also I was curious how long you have to stay at LM in order to not lose 401k/sign on bonus. Thanks#engineering #lockheedmartin #software #sunnyvale #fortworth
Lockheed you have to stay 1 year to not pay signing or relocation. I’ve heard mixed things about embedded in Fort Worth. Depends on what project you’re on
One year that’s not too bad. Thanks for the info!
Dude leetcode and get out of defense. Go get that real TC that’s waiting for you
Yeah trying to :/ Going to commit to LC and practice a lot
I work in defense but can’t speak much about the embedded stuff, just software. I recently got an offer from big tech and I will say the flexibility and low stress of a defense job really helped in being able to study and LC.
Nice congrats! Did you end up taking it? If you don’t mind, can I ask YOE and what the company was?
@Northrop which security clearance is required for your job? Which city are you in? Tech pays higher but work is demanding. How difficult/stressful is your job at defense?
