Hello I got 2 offers: YOE- 4 years 1. MSFT Base 111K, Stocks: 130K(4 years-25% each year), Signon-cash(20k-year1,10k-year2) - level 60 Actually attended Hiring Event -Software Engineering I/II . Was expecting L61(SDE 2) but offered L60. How easy it is to get promoted to L61? is it ok to join MSFT as L60 with 4 YOE? is it ok to go with BLK now and probably come agin in future in better level? 2. BLK Base 145k, Stocks: 12500(1 year), Perf Bonus-25k or more - eng II Which one to choose share your thoughts please considering WLB and learning. How would it impact my future if I choose Microsoft or Blackrock #microsoft #blackrock

Yes. It is Level 60 SDE 1. I was expecting SDE 2. I attended hiring event which is for both levels.

I'd probably take MSFT here, but realize there's a 4 year cliff that will hit you pretty hard. The promotion to SDE2 isn't that hard. Promotion to senior can be difficult. But if you don't make senior by year 4 you're probably looking at a pay cut.
I would reject MSFT, but only because promos are only 5% bump.

Microsoft on resume gets your resume considered almost 100% of the time. If you’re willing to look at jumping in 2 years to FAANG, then maybe Microsoft is a good stepping stone. But don’t get rusty with LC.
Msft has a 10% cash bonus you didn't consider. And it's pretty easy to get to L61. 1 year.

Hey, OP Microsoft is lowball af. Same thing happened to me. Tried to put me at basically SE1 and I walked from that offer. I mean it's not BAD but there are a few more companies I'm aware of hiring in Atlanta that I believe do much more if you haven't applied yet.
I ve decide to come back later to MSFT considering other companies. Have to gain more knowledge and have to practice more.
Is MICROSOFT for remote role or you have to be in person in Atlanta ?
