Hey guys, Posting here cause honestly idk where else to post this lol. So I made a super stupid mistake…like peak moronic levels. I ordered those at-home try on frames from Warby Parker. They sent me about 5 frames to try on. So I tried them on and, to return it (here comes the idiot part) I just stuck the box at the top of my mailbox (the part before sliding it into the bottom holder) and raised the flag. Idk. I’m clueless about how the mail system works and thought that would be good enough. Turns out I needed to go to a physical USPS location and drop it off. So now I’m getting emails from Warby Parker saying they never received the box and they’re gonna charge me like $500-600 for all the missing frames. I checked the mailbox and the box was gone, so either the mail person stole it, or (I’m hoping) they just dropped it off at the USPS store and it’s just sitting somewhere? Do you think it’s worth it for me to go and ask the people at USPS and explain the whole situation? I’m a little nervous cause the people there are not the kindest and a little dead inside, but to avoid paying $500…yeah I’m gonna have to do it. Also, the package said “To: *my name*, From: Warby Parker” so not sure how they could’ve used that info at all. I just was not thinking…. Any advice? I’ve got until the 23rd to return the package, but I may be able to extend it up to a week past that.
Did it have a tracking code? USPS can usually find missing packages with success rate of 90%+. Albeit, they're slow. Warby Parker probably deals with similar situations all the time. If you give them a good reason, they'll wait for you.
Putting a package in your own mailbox and lifting the flag for pickup doesn't magically generate a tracking code
Yes I believe so! It’s this super long 22 digit tracking number from an old email I found. Would you recommend I go to USPS, explain the situation, and give them this number?
You work in a company that robs/manipulates the whole world, this 500$ is just minuscule reversed collateral damage.
But I’m literally the lowest rung worker making peanuts in order to survive, working 60+ hours a week. I’m not some partner making 7 figures with unlimited PTO. Like the most I do is fix bugs in the trading platforms
leetcode and switch jobs until $500 is nothing to you
File the loss with your credit card company, hoping you have a good one
What?
Lol
Yes go to local Usps office. They will give you an answer. Depending on their mood that day.
That looks like my best option at this point, thank you!
It's a good start. What else can you do. I avoid USPS as much as I can.
I make $500 mistakes all the time when choosing stocks
Just say it wasnt you
Could you elaborate?
How you can give your woman access to your villa?
