Always assume your being watched on a work computer.
No, they track running kids in Gaza.
Absolutely. Key logging, face tracking, heart signature monitoring, anal probe sensor arrays, the works.
you would seem unavailable to your colleagues most of the day which might send the wrong impression.
A screenshot is taken every 5 minutes and saved off. If you get reported of suspected time card fraud they will go back and look at this to figure out how much you actually worked. One of the only ways to get fired at LM. Microsoft teams tracks mouse and keyboard activity for presence status, so it wouldn't surprise me if it reported some sort of metric to your manager. There's another tool called "ergosuite" that's on computers under the guise of telling you to take a break if you've been typing too much or whatever that I'm sure has metrics but it's annoying and I turn it off every time I reboot my computer and it's never been a problem. TL;DR if you get suspected they will check and you'll get fired
This stupid ergosuite gets reinstalled automatically even if your manager has given approvals for you to get rid it and its not very helpful "you need a break" notification beeps
Yeah, but you can exit it from the task bar every time you restart. It's annoying but far less annoying than being told you're typing too much
Hi- I won’t cover the mechanics or every detail, but if this is something you are considering, I would find a different employer. Due to several factors of the nature of our work, our monitoring is much more active than a typical tech company, primarily due to the risk of espionage & how our payment structure is with most customers. Yes, keystroke logging, yes idle time, yes screen shots, yes what are you accessing & where are you when doing so…. I’ll also add your company badge & company cell phone use, apps downloaded, etc. All that data is available to be bounced against your peers in People Analytics Suite. Your direct manager may have no knowledge until even the morning of your termination meeting or they maybe pulled in to understand what direction you have been given. The real differentiator between LM and any non-defense contractor is, if you defraud LM, we have to disclose and pay the impacted customer. This can (and I have seen first hand) result in LM pursuing civil recourse against you. This is absolutely the most common offense to be terminated for at LM. I have seen it happen up to the director level.
I forgot to mention that in my response. If you get caught the company has to reimburse the government for the time they think you weren't working. Therefore they are motivated to catch you as early as they can.
I'm in a similar position. I believe you are tracked at least for workstation activity and badging in/out, but none of that will come back to haunt you unless someone reports you. Then they'll also look at cameras. I personally leave my workstation often to work in lab projects, grab lunch, etc. I just make sure my desktop stays unlocked and my Teams/Skype status says "Available" most of the time I'm at my desk not in a meeting. I also make sure there's at least job-related reading material on my monitor. If I feel the need to use the internet to do non-job-related things, I just use my (personal) phone. Don't fall behind in projects or piss off your peers and you'll probably be fine. EDIT: To answer your post, I would NEVER risk leaving site early without letting anyone know. Your team might allow some WFH, though everything I said previously still applies. My team's pretty good when I let them know when I need to take care of something non-work-related, will be late, need to WFH, etc. There are also mechanisms like flex-time and the 4-day work week to take care of things outside of work or if you just need extended breaks without using PTO.
Hello can i ask for your referral for new grad position at Lockheed, please? I finished 600 Lc, and graduated from CS rank <10 university, with 2 internship at fortune 500 companies. I would greatly appreciated your help🥲🥲
@LuckyMoney The thing is LM has to assume that you could be working while not being on your laptop. I sometimes go offline to interact with coworkers but make sure I finish my work so nobody reports me. You literally have to be sleeping during the workday or not getting tasks finished for LM to even suspect you.

Yeah all companies track, not sure how many will actively check/monitor
to what level of detail are they able to track? what if i work 6hrs instead of 8? can they still tell the difference?
Yes, they track every key stroke
