Anyone at or been at Viasat? Was approached about a potential exec role and am curious.
Had an offer from them and the comp was really low
Interviewed with them 18 months ago. Their expectations for a product launch were unrealistic and the Senior Management was inexperienced. I withdraw my application after talking with the Director level of CX.
Worked there 1 year out of school. Don’t even consider it. They are a defense contractor not a tech company. The pay is 1/2 or 1/3 of what you could make at FANG, old school bureaucratic environment.
I worked there for a few years and it was great. Considering going back. I know the pay is basically half, but San Diego is not nearly as high in cost of living and the politics are much more sane. You can expect maybe 150k TC as a strong SWE, with the bulk of that being base salary. Bonuses are not standard, there's no target, and stock grants are small, e.g. 20-30k over 4 years. Money isn't everything, I still have a lot of friends there nearly 4 years after I left.
