Got approached by a recruiter at TRP for a SWE position in their engineering department (London) How’s engineering at TRP? Based on comp ranges, the recruiter told me it would be around 110k-115k (base). 120k if they really want you. Bonuses around 10%-20%. Current TC: 100k (base) YOE: almost 3 Would it be worth the jump? Bonuses seem a bit low compared to what you might get (if lucky) at GS.
Not worth the jump. Hang in there and then switch to hft/hedge fund or somewhere that pays more. GS is good on your resume. You only jump jobs so often, so make it worth it. You're better of moving to tech companies than going for TRP
Is it common for people to go from GS to hft?
100k base with 3 YOE at Goldman - has there been a big bump recently? I would have thought it would be more like £75k-£85k
I know that there are Associates with 5 YoE stuck at £90-95k base
What are we considering here? A peanuts bump in TC? It is not even worth your time for an interview. Unless you hate your team in GS, stay. I am not saying do not leave GS by any means but not for that..
Did you go forward with an application? I'd advise to stay away.
Why stay away?
What kind of bonus can you get in an average year at Goldman?
Based on my tenure here, I’ve had 50% average. But based on levels.fyi, you should get about 25%.
Are you front office tech? If so which asset class?
