Insights on gsa capital

Hey, I’m currently interviewing with google/citadel sec/gsa capital as a software engineer How does gsa capital rank among the other 2? Especially in terms of pay, wlb, and type of work. I can’t find any info on them.

Hard to tell unless you meet someone who’s interviewed there, because it’s not a large shop. They pay very well for QR, rumored to be competitive w/ big name firms like JS/Cit/Optiver. Does that mean that SWEs are well-comped? Difficult to tell. Also, their HFT group broke off to form XTX markets, which may make working for GSA less attractive these days for SWE. But like I said, this is all just hearsay.

Thanks, very helpful. Do you know if these firms have a strong engineering culture? Comparable to google?

Depends what you mean by engineering culture. Do they have smart engineers who value well-written code and best practices? Sure. Do they have the same level of internal infrastructure development as Google? No. Nobody’s going around paying ridiculous money to recruit bad engineers, but at the same time, there’s a reason they have to pay so much more than tech companies to get high-quality engineers. SWEs are generally respected even though they aren’t the primary breadwinners of these firms, but that can be very firm-specific, so I don’t know about GSA.
