#resume #jobs #resumereview Posting for a friend. " Trying to get jobs everyday. But nothing works. Reached out to 1000's of recruiters no response. " Let me know if you like what you see and refer to a position at your org. I can send you the real resume offline.
You don’t need the “relevant coursework” section, no one cares
Make it 1 page Also shows no business impact which for 5yoe should be driving initiatives and features with results.
Too good to be true. Some of the “I invented the wheel in my company” sentences need to dialed down.
2 pages? Ick
RBAC? Seriously? That’s not a problem to solve. You should have used open standards using some library like Topaz.
Real time updates without application restarts? You don’t know anything you’re talking about. Giving me undergrad student vibes.
There's a lot to improve here: 1. Remove coursework 2. Remove a lot of your internships/projects (You have multiple jobs that should be more relevant than those) 3. The change of fonts makes your resume hard to read very quickly (which is what a recruiter does) 4. Focus more on business impact for your jobs. That's what recruiters are focusing on. In general, I think you need to cut down the words in a resume a decent amount. There's too much going on and some of the experiences are probably not adding much. If you need more help, I'm the founder of a platform called Canyon (https://www.usecanyon.com/) which is designed to maximize your changes of landing your dream job. Canyon's resume scorer seems like it would be especially helpful for you. Our scorer grades you on over 20 different criteria (including specific ones for engineers) to make sure your resume is as perfect as it can be. Check it out and let me know what you think (I think you'll find it very helpful)
Lot of hiring managers don’t consider non-us experience. Market is tough. Apply for SDE 2 roles. Like other pointed out, too much going on. Random font changes to point out tech. Bragging without substance is a turn off. Do subtle bragging. I think you have a lot of good stuff but your average and badly worded stuff is over shadowing it. Also I only see entry level engineer projects in your work experience, no mention of hardening service activities. Don’t do hierarchical bullets looks weird
Try out new grad role.
bro there is nothing like new grad nowadays
Most companies don’t like the title of consultant
I find it hard to read I'd say make it shorter, go to the point No more than 3 bullet points per role Make it clear what technologies used
