What is the composition of solutions architect package at Cloudera? Do they offer RSUs? If so, what are th options they have to cash out RSUs? As I understand, they wouldn't go public ever again.
Soon cloudera will sell the company do not make entry now.
What will happen if they sell the company? Why do you recommend not to make an entry?
Cloudera is currently owned by KK&R and CD&R private equity firms. Thus, no stocks to award. We do get equity that has a vesting schedule (it’s different for everyone, so you will have to ask). You will also have to ask if additional equity will be awarded each year or not.
Every year there's an exercise period in which you can cash out a portion of your vested SARs at the current stock price.
It's a private company so there isn't a concept of stocks. You get "stars" which are "stock appreciation rights". meaning you can cash the STARS out after they vest at $2-$3 in worth per STAR, or you can gamble and hold the STARS for the future if Cloudera does go public and those would be your stocks.
SAR = Stock Appreciation Right. So yes there's a concept of "stock", it's literally in the name. SAR are similar to stock options except there is no cost to acquire them (meaning you can keep them beyond your employment termination date without a cash outlay like a traditional option).
