So why did twilio shut down zipwhip Was it a “complementary “ product or was it duplicating what they could do ? I know twilio to a decent extent but forgot what zipwhip was .. I think it was a software integrated tightly with an insurance product and could send out messages based on cerntain events TIA ~ 250
The SaaS app doesn’t make them enough money. Twilio wanted Zipwhip’s low level carrier connectivity and toll free messaging business. Anyone using Zipwhip APIs is encouraged to switch to the Twilio equivalent.
I’m fairly new to twilio but I think Twilio pretty much merged and refactored Zipwhip into the twilio native ecosystem then got rid of ZipWhip all together. Exisiting customers would have to reregister on twilio instead.
Thanks ManorEyal ! Would it be right to say that ZipWhip was more tightly integrated an insurance product ? (Maybe it was integrated with multiple products but I am aware only of the insurance one )
