The past month as been an absolute farce as more and more Republicans have hopped onboard the effort to make Donald Trump our unelected dictator. This behavior and behavior like it has gotten worse and worse over the decades as we have failed to hold our elected leaders who turn out to be criminals and oath breakers to account for their actions. Occasionally a true patriot comes along who understands the gravity of the situation we are in and what is required of those who swore an oath to our country and our constitution. If you feel the same please contact your representatives and remind them of the oath they took to defend our country and constitution.
At the very least perhaps the 19 members who signed on to overturn the results of their own election should not be seated.
Maybe these people are principled and they're willing to give up their seats if they were placed through fraud, but where has that been established? Can't there be "not large enough to impact the election results" fraud? Maybe a signature audit could help. If it shows theirs were fraudulent victories, remove them.
Sure, get a judge to order one. Hurry up though the electors are voting on Monday.
š¤£ if anything, the rest of congress that didnāt support this lawsuit should be thrown out. They were against free and fair elections.
Those damn GOP controlled states not running free and fair elections. I agree, if we actually had free and fair elections the current crop of Republicans would have trouble winning any majority ever again. š š š š
If these idiots didnāt think it was free and fair as you apparently also think, then how did they end up getting elected. They need to pick a side to argue.
100%. Saying shame on them clearly doesnāt work for the GOP, use the constitution to teach them a lesson.
No, would worsen the polarization and give credit to conspiracy theories. Best let Trump flail around like a fool and embarrass his party further.
This is reasonable.
Lost it already? If you're talking of sedition, you first need to establish evidence of sedition. Simply challenging election results like the Democrats did in 2016 or like Republicans and Democrats did in 2000, or state laws, isn't sedition. If so, even the courts would have hinted that instead of a 7-2 vote. Don't fall for propaganda about Confederacy v Union fight all over again.
7-2 on standing, 9-0 on merit.
Youāre being dramatic, but I suspect thatās the intent.
In what way is this dramatic? I think this is pretty tame given the circumstances.
Whereās the insurrection and rebellion?
