Anyone interviewed for Nubank lately ? Want to see what kind of Salary is offered at Nubank for Product role (Brazil Location) in comparison with FANG TC. Have got a verbal postive feedback on overall interview without compensation discussion yet - Recruiter said he will reach out shortly with specifics. However looking at salaries in Brazil for Product Managers, it looks like a bad decision to move to Brazil as compensation looks extremely low in Brazil. Seems no go for me. Any inputs ? Suggestions? Salaries in Brazil are communicated as monthly net. Although the currency is devalued at the moment, the standard of life is much better on a lower salary and that’s what you should look for. A monthly net salary of BRL 20k will provide a single person a standard of life equivalent to a 6-digit salary in the US: think living in a nice place/neighbourhood, having a cleaner, fancy nightlife, etc. For a family it wouldn’t be enough tho as you would need to add private school fees on top.
I earn more than that and still think moving abroad is better in the long run. Especially in tech. Don't forget security. You just can't have anything nice here without the risk of being mugged or worse. The country is getting poorer and it tends to worsen.
Tech here is growing quickly and there aren't enough skilled workers, you can earn a lot by staying. I make ~R$100k/mo not counting equity, which is significantly more. You can live in a bubble with tech money in Brazil... More luxury than abroad, safety, etc
Nubank is fantastic, but moving to Brazil is not good. If you could earn in USD, come, and have a great time. But to make it in BRL is not worth it. About security, if you come, stay away from big cities, go to the countryside.

[Poll] Are you anxious about your lifetime livelihood ?
If you live in the US, don't come. Our currency right now has almost no value. If you make, for example, 50k in US dollars it would be equivalent to almost 300k Brazilian real. That kind of compensation is only earned by high ranking managers here. Also everything is more expensive and security is an issue. I have friends in tech (managers in the banking sector and senior software engineers) that really want to leave Brazil and others that already moved to Canada, Australia, Europe, etc.
