Hello Blinders, I was laid off late last year due to a RIF at JPMChase in NYC. Worked there for about 2 years in the data analytics space. It was my first role in financial services & tech. My background is in fashion, where I worked in product development (heavy in excel because of costing.) I decided to switch industries after being overworked and underpaid for 10 years in environments that were based on nepotism and favoritism. I saw a lot of abuse of power, sexual assault, you name it. I had no connections in finance, so I filled out ~100 applications every day for 5 months, was rejected at the interview phase more times than I care to count, and finally got one offer at JPMC (125TC in NYC.) Worked my ass off for 2 years and proved to all my stakeholders I didn't need a Masters or experience from Goldman to do a kickass job. Fast forward 2 years--my team was eliminated, had to start another job search all over again. I'm seeking a data manager/senior data analyst role that is heavy in data visualization (I love Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik, etc). I know some coding but don't enjoy it. I have been applying to both junior and senior level data analyst roles to see how the market would respond to my resume. I have only been getting interviews for roles that are junior analysts. Also have been getting rejected after interview #2 with the hiring manager for jobs I am overqualified for. I would love for the blind community's insights on the following: 1. What is the demand outlook for BI - visualization roles? They seem few and far between based on my 3 months of applying. 2. Are my years outside of the industry not being accounted for in my total YOE by tech/financial recruiters? 3. Can anyone help me out with referrals? Thanks folks! #data #dataanalytics #datascience #referrals

Hey @NehO56, how is your new job? Any insight on searching for a similar position? Asking for a friend who was a Data Visualization Manager with a consultancy and just lost his job.
