[Poll] Linkedin Vs Pinterest Vs Microsoft
So I joined Qubole long time back, when I joined this company it felt like this is the place to be (not any more). All throughout these years I have been given false assurances by my manager that there is a great growth potential in the Company, Stocks, etc. I fell under the trap of my manager, the leadership of the company, the false dreams, etc. Recently, Qubole got acquired by Idera Inc. What happens next? Almost everyone from the US Team are given termination letters without any severance package. There is no announcement from the CEO/CFO as to what compelled them to sell the company, at least for the sake of humanity and courtesy they should have informed the hardest working employees about the same They have awarded the so called "KEY" employees a Carve Out bonus and no one knows on what basis they have decided that, for example: A Product Manager who never responds to your queries for months is getting paid a heavy bounty which is absolute bullshit VS the ex-employees who have bought your stocks get nothing Qubole, you lost a follower today, never even dreaming about your name or coming closer to you ever ever ever I had so much regards for the company, for the founders, for my manager, it looks like I was only foolish to give my all to you guys, I am no longer going to do that because you know what you do not deserve even a single drop of my sweat or even a single rock from my backyard Rest assured, KARMA will HIT BACK!! #qubole #qubolesucks
Never ever believe your employer You are just another resource to them!
It is funny to see each generation making the same mistake. That cracks me up !
Your employer owes you nothing. You are an at-will employee. Never trust management. You have to make your own decisions on what is good for you. DM for Salesforce referral.
😁
Managers and leadership were being cheerleaders, doing their job. Always take it with a grain of salt. Don’t let this prevent you from joining another startup. If things don’t look promising, switch in 2-3 years and hedge your bets. Unfortunately like VCs, employees can only work at one company at a time. Rant about it. Shame the founders/CEO but move on quickly. All the best.
Clara, I think looking at your response you will never be able to understand the emotional part of this ever, so I will try not to convince you.
Cloudera employee here. We had our own share of hard time for past couple of years, we always asked why we had to go through the merger chaos when executives from both these companies were constantly cheerleading the employees with everything being green and rosy. In the hindsight, it makes much more sense. Its not easy to compete against likes of AWS and Azure. We were forced to merge to bring our talent pool and financial muscle together to pull it off and I am happy that the new entity has strong vision and its been able to execute on it so far. The strong balance sheet has given us cushion to go and pull it off. See you cant compete against them by selling the same software on their platform that they sell themselves. Databricks changed the underlying technology landscape with spark and so did Mongo and Snowflakes. Its very important that you have your own secret sauce somewhere which differentiates you from rest of the flock. Last year MapR folded and this year Qubole.
Not that things have been going well after merger at Cloudera. At this point it’s an acquisition coming soon or we’ll be dying a slow painful death...
So what are the exact details on the acquisition and happening to employees across Bangalore and US ?
Sounds worse than working at Amazon.
