There have been multiple startups proposing similar concepts in the last years like Zippin, Standard Cognition, Inokyo, all of them being sort of a white-label version of AmazonGo. However I haven't seen any of them actually deploying the tech in stores besides their own demo parades. #tech #amazongo #ai #computervision #startup

Racism towards Indians
Because it's a stupid idea
yea honestly surprised amzn is actually trying to bring cashierless to full sized grocery stores
That is quite a good take, never thought about that
It's illegal in SF
Its because the tech is isn't ready (much like the self-driving cars). It is very expensive to deploy the tech. Cameras, sensors, installation are all very expensive and the benefits are questionable. Big grocery stores will probably never go that way. For other stores real estate is hard to find and very expensive. There is no obvious ROI. They will all die out as soon as Amazon Go shuts shop.
Isn’t zippin actually being deployed at stadiums now?
Yes
Maybe no one wants to shop at them.
