It's all because of the CEO. He trusts no one, and micromanages everyone, including VPs, who are basically just there for decoration. The company has been without a head of product for a year, and is on its 6th VP of sales. Well over 100 people left Talkdesk last year, and it's only a 300 person company! The cofounder left, senior management have left, some departments have had close to 100% turnover and customers are leaving too. There's been no revenue growth in over a year. Investors won't touch the company and the CEO boasts of having complete control of the board, so there is no hope it's going to improve.

Amazingly, Twitch is rated even worse at 2.8.
We used to be 2.8 until management asked people to write more 5 star reviews / flagged negative ones to bump us up to 3.2, it's not as bad as what you say about talkdesk but there are rumors of sexual harassment payoffs so we will see!

I've seen worse, way worse.
Not sure how much to believe Glassdoor since HR basically forces ppl to write positive reviews. The last startup company (ed tech) that I was at had > 3.5 rating and it was the worst company I’ve ever been at. The CEO is a legit psychopath.
