Staff PM Walmart; ~ TC $200K base, $40K bonus, $100K/3 years stock grant with annual refreshers. (~$273-290k depending on if I got correctly how their refreshers work). Hybrid, 20-minute commute. Amazon Sr. PMT; negotiating and targeting closer to the top of the range (~$350K as a returning PM/regretful attrition). Hybrid, 45-60 min commute, wlb on the team is manageable. Per levels.fyi Staff at Walmart> Sr. PMT at Amazon but have some doubts about how much I trust this data https://www.levels.fyi/t/product-manager?compare=Walmart%2CAmazon&countryId=254 Any insights anyone? Started interviewing just a couple of months back pre-holidays and have a few other interviews going but I am not yet close to the offer stages. Would not mind working for 1 year and jumping ships. TC: 0 (was laid off last year) YOE: 7 in product #pm #product #productmanager
Stay at Amazon
Not at Amazon; do you mean go back? Just for $?
Staff PM at WMT was a level down compared to Amazon L6 PMT. However, last year WMT merged the Staff level (x5) with Principal/Sr Manager (x6) into level G. The former X6 was comparable to L6 PMT. The base for staff was usually around 180. Base for principal/sr Manager was usually around 210. So seems like your role is closer to the principal level. I would try to negotiate with WMT. I recently received an offer for Sr Manager role with 210 base, 40k target bonus, 100k /3 target RSUs. 45k sign on and 60k new hire RSUs. The initial numbers I was given were exactly the same as your offer, but negotiated up. My comp is 305 y1, 335 y2, 370 y3. I am currently an L6 PMT at Amazon with TC of 335k in 2024, and a cliff expected in 2025.
Also - are these offers for Seattle/Bellevue or Bay Area?
Seattle
We're you L6 at Amazon before??
yes so that's the part of the reason I am hesitant to go back at the same level
Ok that's important context then. I can see why u feel this way
Amazon pays more
Question - did u receive 100k new hire RSU or you refer to the standard 100k RSU target given each year?
To add, we are a dual-income household; my spouse makes a similar base but overall TC is higher
