How is the wlb at c1 after the last year of layoffs and pips? Last year individuals were discussing relaxed work environments and 30 hour work weeks. Does this still exist or is it completely dead? TC:325
It sucks now. They are trying to be like Amazon for half the pay
Seems like a lot of ex-Amazoninans have landed at other companies and begun to infect them with their toxic ways. I stay as far from Amazon folks as I can!
Joined last year in august. Was really nice for 2 months. Then shit hit the fan really quickly
I wish I never joined. I was promised WLB and a chill stable company. It's been hunger games since 2023.
What lob?
Is it still at least a 9-5?
Depends on team and role. We have a college program where the script kitties work from like 10-4, play ping pong in between , take 1.5 hour lunch breaks, and work on basic CRUD endpoinys so from that experience, cap 1’s great. But if ur experienced, then yah, ull work probably longer to pick up their slack. Ymmv
Good place for juniors. If someone is working here that's more senior I assume they can't get into FAANG. We're Amazon for half the pay.
Doesn't surprise me for a company that allowed my personal data hacked, after being a customer 15yrs. Then they shutdown my card Until I faxed them my Driver's License. I closed out the account, opened one at Wells Fargo and never looked back.
That's like going from being butt raped to eating a shit sandwich
I know at least two other people that close their accounts because of this.
They're really sheisty about their WLB. They shifted their expectation to a lot of "side of desk" work like spamming the image to managers that you did your job, much more so than doing the job itself. They call it "influence" in their semi-annual hunger games style PM cycles, but it's really a popularity contest among management. Tl;Dr if you believe the WLB as advertised, other sociopathic managers will shit on you behind your back and get you canned.
WLB has its ups and downs.. I normally don’t need to work past 5 or push hard on Fridays. Sometimes ill need to put in extra work but generally pretty balanced. Like most jobs id say
It's bad for PA and above. Rest are maybe ok.
Whats is PA?
WLB is fine-ish. What’s more frustrating is the day to day work with red tape and C1 specific tech
