I was reached out by Google and Amazon HR for preliminary screens, and Google HR told me that hiring manager saw my profile and we will go to next round directly, so she was giving me interview tips , and she ghosted me. Amazon , she just sent me a form to fill asking basic questions and then kaboom. What's happening? This is for hardware program management role. yoe : 8 , TC 115
I'm also interviewing and have noticed a huge spike in ghosting this time compared to previous times I have interviewed.

Yeh, I got a similar email from Google Recruiter stating that the hiring manager interesting in an interview and asked me to complete an assessment. Then nothing happened. Seems the recruiters aren’t communicating well with the HM

Happened to me with Google. Passed assessment, did well on phone screen with HR and she said the HM already reviewed my resume and was interested in moving forward with interviews. She said the next step would be the scheduling team reaching out to schedule interviews and also an interview prep call with her. This was 3 weeks ago. I followed up via email after a week and zero response. Yet they keep reposting the listing on LinkedIn. It leaves a very bad impression.

LinkedIn reposting means nothing. LinkedIn crawls companies job portals to pull these open positions. The position could’ve been closed, LinkedIn doesn’t immediately reflects that.

How long have they been silent? Have you tried reaching out? In any case, it’s probably not you. Most likely internal things such as key people being unavailable at the moment, reorgs, hot deadlines etc. We often think we are the center of everyone’s attention during the interview process but in reality we are just a resume in the pipeline, particularly in today’s job market.
