Senior Software Engineer position at Fidelity

I was offer a FT position at Fidelity investments(currently a contractor) Wanted to see if it’s worth it Position : L5 - senior software engineer Base salary - 115,000 Bonus - 20% ~ 21K Profit sharing - 10% ~ 13K 401K match - 7% ~ 10K assumes a matching of 7% Total comp: 159K I wanted to check if it’s even worth taking a lower base salary with other promised stuff. Current TC as a contractor : 140K - 145K Also, this profit sharing is a new thing for Fidelity so please advise if anyone knows how it works. They’ve never included this for my friends/colleagues currently working at my level or senior level. #engineering #software #swe #offer#engineering #fidelity

Bonus is not guaranteed to be 100%. So I would not count it at full 21k.

This is calculated at 90%

You need to count paid vacation, health insurance, retirement health etc

I'd say aim for a higher base pay, you've been offered a lower figure. Also the bonus I'd calculate it as a safe 18 percent (instead of the 20 - you'd get 20 or even a bit higher if you get an exceptional performance rating)

what's your total YOE? profit sharing and 401k match will take 5 years to completely vest. if you are planning to stay for 5 years it might be a good move

4 YOE.. yes, I’m aware of that..
