I had an interview with a HM at Ingram and was asked if I have set working hours at my current role because they want folks who are very excited for their projects ( work long hours, late nights and weekends, willing to work late to work with offshore teams) . Hiring manager went on to give example of a new grad on their team (Josh) — “Josh is only have 2-3 years experience but he is out performing senior engineers with 15+ years of experience because he is single and has no other commitments, Josh will work until he gets stuff done, we are looking for people with that kind of excitement.” I was so kind I didn’t end the call. Was verbally told I made it to the next round but I’ll pass. TC: 182 YOE: 14

good for you. the only reason companies do this is because they find candidates willing to torture themselves enough to do that. thank you on behalf of the industry for not giving into these abusive employers.
