Being at Amazon for 2 years, I've realized that there's always a group of people who want to be more vocal and loud so everyone can feel their presence. These people like to be blunt and dominating (which can be at times good if they really know their stuff). Then there's the whole pip thing... where you don't want to be the last sheep in the crowd so you will make efforts to make yourself heard as well, show that you're also being proactive and "Raising the bar". Does working at Amazon make one pick up narcissistic traits? Eventually classifying you as someone with a narcissistic personality disorder? I feel that there's no way to advance your career and get a promotion unless you're aggressive and cut throat. Thoughts/opinions?
Agree with you on the last para. There is no other way, amazon or elsewhere, it is the same.
Leetcode & SysDesign grinding is the best way to promote buddy.
Normally the loudest are the ones that get noticed the most.. This is just human nature.. it becomes worse though at Amazon where everyone is trying to survive.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it did. My brother works there and it has brought out the worst qualities in him: selfishness, cunning, deceit. He’s good to his family though.
That's everywhere.
