I sent an invite to request for information yesterday, but the hiring manager didn't reply. I think my experience aligns well with the job requirements, I'm really anxious because I really want to move to NYC asap. I was recently promoted to SDE2, maybe my experiences didn't stand out? How many offers does an internal posting usually get? Is it really hard to get an internal transfer? I was hoping to at least meet the hiring manager to show case my skills.....do they usually give all applicants a chance to meet? #Amazon
Maybe the hiring manager got PIP'd lmao
The tiny bit of lucky HMs who got some hiring reqs are preferring to hire from the pool of people who are recently impacted by layoffs, why would they hire you and wait for 30days if someone who is readily available to join the team and loosing their job.
I can join asap too....
Just send them a follow-up. Ps nyc is overhyped
NYC is not overhyped unless youβre trying to start a family then I get it
Did you apply before messaging? Enjoy your PIP, you only hit apply after you have confirmation
no there's a new "Request Information" option that sends a message to the HM without notifying your manager
Update: he replied but mentioned that I need relocation support. I'm currently in Canada and I'm applying for a US position. Does anyone know what is relocation support?
Are you Canadian or American or?
I'm a Canadian, I want to apply for a US position. I don't need immigration or relocation support, not sure if I'm eligible for it
