anyone know anything about Kinetica? How’s their product thought of in the analystics space? WLB, total comp, etc...?
Kinetican here (core dev team, dc area). I like it here. Product doing pretty well - seems to be ahead of our gpu database competitors, more generally competing with legacy products for space in tech stack. We land 1-2 new big name customers per quarter, plus some gov and smaller companies. Innovative add-ons to what a traditional database provides (ML, Graph operations, built-in geospatial functionality). Much of the core work involves turning into an enterprise-level product while still innovating in some areas. Total comp very good - on high end of range for the area. (not faang level, but can't have everything). Base salary/bonus/a little equity for if/when we IPO/are sold. WLB excellent - not expected to work above 40 hrs except in cases of customer emergency. Core hours 10-4, can work remotely outside of that, plus 1 day/week on avg can be fully at home. Good creature comforts - nice office, free drinks/snacks, lunch twice a week, HH once/month. Great office manager who takes care of us. Engineers are in separate office from SanFran HQ, so a very engineering-oriented culture out here.
Thanks, appreciate the info
Old post, but I’m also interested in learning more about working for Kinetica, here in the year 2021

Phenomenal product. Bound to be the leading GPU database. GPU databases are being rapidly utilized - they smoke the competition. The business fundamentals are great. Company-wise, they have great WLB and a lot of trust in employees. Comp is above/market and includes equity.
