Employment gap in resume
I had to leave my job in June last year because of work authorization expiration and I just received my new authorization. My resume shows that I am unemployed from June 2023. For someone looking at my resume, it looks like I was not getting hired from June 2023 due to incompetence, but the reason is different. What can I do? Please advise.

#qrius Feb 28It's not your resume, It's the current job market. Job Market is really bad right now.
It should be fine if you are honest. I took one-year off on purpose to focus on my hobbies. And no I didn’t do anything remarkable or work-related in my one-year. I still found a job when I finally looked. Study hard, do mock interviews, prepare good behavioral stories, and apply to as many places as you can. You will be okay. Good luck!
