Love Hate relationship with Google
Love the company and the aura around it, specially being in tech since a long time. Hate the slow-as-hell hiring process, down-leveling, low balling. Why can’t Google scale it better ? What’s the internal chatter about optimizing the elongated hiring schedule ? TC: 3xx YOE: 15
Google seems like a good place to work but will never apply because of the messed up interview and negotiation process they have. There's other places you can go and make just as much or more with similar wlb and without the shitty hiring and negotiation practices.

Culture is great here. That guy was 1 disgruntled employee. Never seen anyone else reflect this view. I'm sure people have bad mouthed Google before as well as every other big company.

People complain about it internally (e.g. “I referred my awesome former colleague and they were treated badly. I’ll never refer anyone again.”) but nobody really takes any notice and nothing ever changes.
Google can do whatever they want, they are the most prestigious organization in world history. In order to work there you must have Einstein level IQ and have library level code quality
