Requirements: * Fairly narrow exterior width and short length - we have a very constrained parking situation (NYC). Anything with 3 rows definitely won't work. Even the new CRV might be too big. * Fits 3 adults, 2 toddlers in car seats, and a folded stroller and some luggage * All wheel drive for snow * Reliable and minimal maintenance - with the kids, I don't have time for that nonsense Does such a vehicle exist?
I have had my discovery sport for 5 years and love it. Chicago winters get tough and we have parked it outside for a few winters and did fine.
LR is one of the least reliable manufacturers
Maybe. But mine has been good and my VW and Jeep were shit.
Checkout Subaru crosstrek
Interesting option, but does Crosstrek fit 2 toddler seats and an adult in the back?
O had a wrx, which is the same size as the crosstrek, with 2 child seats in the back. The life of the adult in the middle will be miserable.
According to consumer reports data, your best bet is Toyota, Mazda, or Subaru. According to dollars per mile, you get the most bang for your buck from a Subaru. I’d definitely look at a Crosstrek or Forester as others have mentioned.
Mazda
Subaru since it’s cheaper, has more space. Same mpg as Mazda and although it doesn’t drive as nice, it can parallel park easier due to how the front fascia is designed. You can also get bully bars for the front of a forester so it doesn’t get smashed by jaquan when he parks his almost repossessed Cadillac Escalade in front of you in the handicap space with a stolen placard.
Lmao
Mazda CX50 or even CX5. Good value for money. Checkout Subaru as well
Hyundai Kona. AWD. SUV. 5 Years, no issue. Easy to turn, park. Available in EV or Gas.
I'm not a big fan of Korean cars, but they have been very aggressive with their 10yr warranty.
I have a certified hyundai and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Looks even better than my friend’s 35K worth suvs
