NEW GRAD L3 Trying to decide between 3 offers remote/Columbus Square is 84k salary 5k bonus and 80k stocks vesting over 4 years Veeva is 100k salary 20k bonus and 25k Stocks each year forever Teletracking is 125k cash 5k bonus I know about Square the most and if they paid closer to Veeva and Teletracking I’d probably go there but it seems like they underpay. The Veeva culture seems really good but it’s a sustaining engineer position for the first year which seems like a lot of debugging so that with a combination of it being a lesser known company I worry if it impacts my growth. And Teletracking I’d never heard of before but they have great benefits. It’s a productivity engineer position though so I worry if that hurts growth potential or the highly regulated sector they’re in hurts growth potential. Which should I pick? #swe #software #engineering
Pick square but not without negotiating like hell. These 'better paying' small companies are a dime a dozen but square will open a lot of doors for you
Square doesn’t negotiate for new grads unfortunately
yep, we don't negotiate new grad.
Columbus IN or OH?
OH
I can’t believe square is so low…
I know I was really surprised too
It’s dirt cheap to live in Ohio and we pay based on location unfortunately
Join Veeva! Veeva is $30B company and leader in life sciences technology. You can switch to development easily.
What’s your experience been like at Veeva? How long have you been there and how’s it going?
Square. Your career growth matters much more than extra cash right now
That’s definitely a good argument for Square. What’s your experience been like at Square how long have you been there and how have you felt like you’ve grown?
Square will open a lot of doors for you down the line too. Not the OP of the comment but my experience has been mostly positive at Square. Been there 4 years and I’ve learned a lot and met a lot of helpful people. The company will treat you well.
Your career will have a stronger trajectory with Square. It’s worth it imo, the comp will catch up quickly
If I pick Square it would def be for the growth. How long have you been at square and how’s your experience been? How’s it helped you grow?? Also if comp does catch up what’s the comp like at higher levels and what are promos like in your experience
Square level and YOE??
New grad so L3
I think square would be a good place to start your career and would give better exit opportunities
I would take whoever pays the most lol
How’s your experience been at square
Go with Square. If you are competent leveling up quickly will be relatively easy. Been here 8 years. Started at 4 currently 6, trying for 7 this year.
What have you liked about square that has kept you there as opposed to going somewhere else?
why is square paying so low for swe?
Not sure. Guess they’re trying to go on name recognition and maybe spending more money on growing the company? The salary also varies on location so if I moved to SF they’d pay more (117k cash 37.5k stock for the first four years and 8,800 bonus) but Veeva would also pay more if I moved to SF
because op lives in lcol. i got more than 2x as much stock for my entry level offer for Seattle and i don't even have a degree.
