Researching steady returns for my parents, and stumbled into HNDL .. https://www.forbes.com/sites/lcarrel/2020/06/04/as-dividends-get-cut-etf-offers-steady-7-annual-distribution-rate/?sh=64e3136c54cb From February 2018, the month when HNDL launched, through May 2020, a 28-month time period that saw the Coronavirus Market Crash and Rebound, HNDL handily beat its competition... Compare that to the Multi-Asset Diversified Income ETF (MDIV) MDIV +0.4%, which holds stocks, bonds and other assets, has $497 million under management, and sports a yield of 8.1%. While HNDL's return is up 1.7% year to date (June 3), MDIV is down 21%, according to Morningstar. Sounds pretty solid .. what's your opinion for a 3 to 5 year horizon with low risk ?
Do you like taxes? Cuz that’s how you get taxed. Growth investing is superior to dividend investing. Just sell shares as income is needed, control your tax exposure with long term shares. Pick VTI or VOO and call it a day.
That's what I would do .. They're retired with 200k in 3% bonds coming to a close with not much time in the market left so I'm not sure that's the right move ...
They can look into i bonds - 7% I think. Can do 10k per person per year, that would be 40k if they get some now in 2021 and next year 2022. The rest is really up to their risk tolerance. Most of us like index funds.
Just buy helluva $T
I’ve been holding a small 7HANDL position in my HSA for the past 3+ years. Kept delivering %7 dividends through the market crash and during the bull market. But when COVID hit hard the principle went down ~%20, then recovered in a few months with the market and has been steady +/- a few percent since. Nothing magical about it. You can probably get the same result for a lower fee by just buying the ETF’s it’s made of. But I’ve just been lazy and been holding a small position. So never bothered with it.

Do you believe that India is slowly moving towards Dictatorship?
Seems too good to be true
My thoughts exactly ..
I feel like this only works if the bull market continues, or if inflation picks up and the share price holds steady but the fund devalues itself in real terms. There are no guarantees with investing.
