27 ~280k tc (excluding bonus) 230k NW 2 yoe Looking at an IS500. It seems like a solid, reliable luxury car that could last me 10-15 years like my current car and be fun to drive. How stupid is this, and how much would this mess me up financially?
If you can find a CPO with under 10k miles on it, you can probably save 20% of msrp on a car that will be just as reliable. Unless you want a very specific spec.
Could driving the car hard for those first 10-15k miles cause issues? That's what i'd be most worried about
Possible with a sports car. I would say it depends on the CPO warranty. I bought a used Mercedes, less than a year old and the CPO extended the warranty to 5 years VS 3 year for a new car, which helped with peace of mind. You can also check the tires usage if they haven't been replaced. I imagine thread would go up in smoke quickly if driven hard.
Go for it, it's a Toyota V8, it'll last forever, I got a Mach1 myself because I couldn't find a IS500.
Weak ass torque and 0-60 in 4.4? No way.
Isn't that the appeal, though? A bit of oomph for the longevity aspect. I feel much better about that...
$70k invested today would be about $700k by the time you're 60.
Who cares? Op most likely will end up making 7-10 million by that age, why sacrifice happiness for 1% of that?
that’s 10% bro
My personal opinion on a nice car is that you should wait until you have a garage to put it in. Drive something you don’t mind clear coat messing up by leaving outside for years until you have a house to put your car in
As far as if it’s a good financial decision, there are too many unknowns. But if you don’t have debt and are making $280k, you’re probably fine and should do it. Just be sure that’s the car you want to spend $70k on. Rent one on Turo for a week. Once you drive the car off of the lot, it’s going to be worth at least $10k less.
Don't see any on Turo in socal. Wanted to try this cause i've seen this recommended around.
If you want a sporty car you can afford a 914. That’s about it.
Get a model S or a 3-performance instead
Gross, don’t do this op

Why do Indians support Israel so much( on blind surprisingly) when Israel really thinks 💩of them ?
Seems like a lot to pay given your current situation. But it does look great. Didn’t know about the high performance variant.
