Know quite a few people who worked there or some that still work there. In general, I stay away from European pharma companies. Look into American biotech companies if you want to do something pioneering.

Donβt know about Novartis, but my DS role at Genentech pays a base of $180k. TC is around $250k with bonus and stock.
Genentech is definitely much better at pays compared to Novartis or other loser Euro pharma on the East Coast. On the east coast, Merck, Takeda and Pfizer pay well. Novartis, Sanofi, GSK, Astra, Bayer all pay like crap and treat their employees like crap too. And they have a million levels so you can't even rise that fast to a level that pays well.
