I’m in the negotiating stage with Apple and I’m wanting to work remotely just one additional day throughout the week. The reason is because my daughters have disabilities and need to go to a specific school for at least two more years in my city so I cannot relocate and the daily commute is very long. Do you think Apple would make an exception for one additional remote day? That extra day would change the dynamics drastically for me and my family. Blind tax: $295k
Ask the hiring manager instead.
TBH, hard
Hard even with a reason like mine? I’m really not trying to be stingy and ask for 5 days remote. Just one more day.
Just ask for the accommodation and what steps need to happen for them to review the accommodation request formally. Not sure how long that process will take or if it will be granted.
They’ll say yes and change their minds two months after you start.
You could talk to your new manager and where the hell is TC
Added the blind tax
Make an informal deal with your manager. HR won’t budge
Why wouldnt this be a legally protected accommodation?
Unfortunately, it’s not up your manager or even their manager. The policies are set at the VP level, and I’ve seen no exceptions personally.
They don't care in my experience. Tim Cook was having people drive through floods to work lol.
Work from teusday morning to Wednesday past midnight in office, that counts as 3 days

Did you know Indians have a racial slur towards white peoples they use all the time?
You could ask the recruiter and basically just say everything you said here
