Amazon Data Associate: getting in on the ground floor

I studied linguistics in grad school and would love to work in this field, and also am looking to get out of Rakuten. A job listing from Amazon came into my inbox and it was right up my alley: language transcription for Alexa development. So I'm applying for it - took the practice test, took the psychological test, watched the promotional video. From what I've read, the salary is a little meh and is downright low compared to what SWEs earn, but would be a nice bump if I could go to Seattle and it's the exact work I'd like to get into. Has anyone out there done this job? What's it like? Does the Amazon culture burn people out? Is it on a path to more interesting work? And how does it fit into Amazon's level system? #nlp #amazon #alexa
