Leetcode Also 300k isn't a lot in tech
In HCOL* Making 300k where I live is almost unheard of, even in tech
If you find a remote job, they adjust the salary to your city's cost of living. But some companies pay the actual salary without adjustment
Yoe???
Leetcode
Inverting a tree isn’t particularly hard, and Homebrew isn’t particularly innovative or complex.
You're right and that's why we Leetcode harder.
Dude, anything under 300k is probably every now and then. 300+ is the norm
I thought the norm was 400k
400k? People make less than 1m? TC 84k (…F’s in the chat😭)
Leetcode, code quality, communication skills, being vaguely likable, maybe basic system design.
People really undervalue likability. Being a nice person will get you pretty far on its own.
I’m pretty good in terms of all of these except leetcode :( I can rarely come up with the best solution myself, but when I check out an answer, I’m like “duh”
OP, are you a senior manager?
300k is new grad offer in 2021. You should aim for 450-550 if 5 yoe.
2+ YOE can get you 300k+ for engineering roles in the current market if you have competing offers. Interview performance is the key, along with overall attitude (and if interviewing at Amazon, then LP based situation questions too). People cannot give you exact advice on interviews until you provide your line of work / role / skillset etc.
Every now and then? It’s like multiple times a day lol
