1. Sr. AI Engr, Volkswagen of America, it's more of research stuff where most of the folks are PhD and they do R&D on ML development for various applications related to perception. They will start I140 processing after 6 months of joining the company 2. ML engineer , Meta(long term contract) role. This is for the motion sensor team, develop/fine tune ML models for multimodal sensor applications. It has work related to ML infra as well. The contracting firm will start my I140 processing soon after I join. The manager mentioned CW and full time employees are treated the same way with similar responsibilities and expectations Pointers I'm looking into: 1. My six years of H1 expires in Sep 2026. If I140 processing starts after 6 months say around Dec this year, I will be cutting close to the deadline ( since the employer can file for my H1 extension upon perm filing - tentatively end of Dec 2025) 2. WLB - I know meta WLB would be similar to that of Amazon, don't have any data points related to Volkswagen. 3. Prospects after say 3yrs down the lane if I want to switch companies at that point 4. I don't have any info regarding work culture at Volkswagen. Not sure how to assess that. Both roles look interesting to me, pay and benefits are slightly higher ~10% at Volkswagen compared to Meta as it's a contract position. #data #datascience #machinelearning #offers TC: 185k
