friend studying actuary certifications and have decent skills in data frameworks like R what are some opportunities here in Seattle area? - he probably won’t be interested into tech roles - only interested in Seattle opportunities - top tier master in finance degree, but probably sick of financial industry for whatever reason TC: 236 <—- mine, his is probably somewhere close to non existent but I don’t know his youtube channel or onlyfans so not sure
For property and casualty insurance, Pemco and Liberty Mutual have major operations in the Seattle area. The latter often publish salary ranges in their job descriptions, but the TC is nowhere near your level unless it's for a lettered actuary e.g. FCAS.
Milliman is your best bet money wise. The Seattle Health practice is very successful. Once you hit 1300 billable hours, you have unlimited PTO and make 40% of your billing rate for the hours after that (that was $80 an hour for me as a straight out of college analyst). Once you’re an ASA, you also get 4% of the billing rate of those who work under you, so it compounds very quickly.
