I’ve been interviewing at both companies for a managerial position (in design). I am currently in the 2nd and 3rd round of interviews at both companies. Can anyone provide insight into work culture into either? Also, I’ve never worked for a start up before and I’m interested in what I should be asking for in terms of equity for both companies.. Sonder seems cool but I’m not based in SF and I’m not sure I’d want to relocate... What do you think?
What stage are they (seed, A, B etc) and what is their revenue/valuation?
Sonder: From what I’ve read they’ve raised a total of $360M in funding over 6 rounds. Their latest funding was raised on July from a Series D round. Valuation is at 1 billion.. Common Living: Series C round and have raised 40 million What do you think?
Oh these are big. For the first one looks like they are near IPO so look for RSUs "valued" at $30k-100k/yr depending on YoE. For the second one it's quite a bit riskier but if they still offer RSUs that's great. Options are OK but a point against. Look for a slightly higher "paper value" of their RSUs (basically #shares x price at last valuation) to compensate for the additional risk. In general the more you believe in the company the more equity you should ask for.
Which did you choose? Am curious about sonder. Are you a product design manager?
What did you choose?
Did you take the Sonder offer?
What did you choose?
Did you take the Sonder offer? Lol
Don't work for start ups
Very helpful..
