Evaluating Blue Origin offer

Got an offer from Blue and I'm not sure what to make of it. I applied for a Process Engineer in Additive Manufacturing (all levels), received an offer for level 2. Education: MS in Solid State Chemical Engineering Experience: 2.5 years Location: Kent, WA I also have quite a bit of experience in Data Science and Software development. I've have published a few papers in these fields. Offer: 115k base, 5k signing. Is this typical for L2 engineers? How much experience is needed for L3 engineers, and what compensations are typical for them? As well, this is lower than data science roles in the area. Of course the title is not data scientist, but I would be doing a lot of work characteristic of a data scientist. Current salary: 124k (with performance reviews/annual salary adjustments in a couple weeks) in an area with ~20% cheaper cost of living. Edit: There are stock options (35k) but they only have value if Blue Origin goes public, so I presume them as worthless.

It’s really expensive to live here . That’s extremely low , no stock options ?

Agree. It is hard to make ends meet even if OP is single. One bed room rent runs at $2K+ a month here. Ask them for COL adjustment to $150K if you can. It doesn’t make any sense to make less at a higher COL location.

Yeah you'd essentially be paying to work there in that location. Didn't seem ideal op

Compared to traditional aero in the area, the pay is really really good. Not a tech salary.

Blue wont go much higher than what you were offered. I turned down Level 3 offers that were 135k, with 5k signing for Space Coast and Van Horn Texas. The stock is worthless, it wont go public without customers and they have no customers...
