Have got an offer from Lattice Semiconductor. Base: $155K RSU: $45K Annual Bonus: 10% Sign on : $10K TC: Approx $218K How does it look for San Jose? Was laid off from Intel as a G8 so super relieved to have something. Even though it's a much junior position compared to what I had at Intel, still overall TC is still high. Also interviewing with AMD for a formal verification position which I should be able to bag. In your opinion, is AMD worth to join for a bit high TC.
Really glad that you're able to find work after being laid off, that's a huge relief these days and that stress is rough. I'm curious, though, is this how people on here are calculating total compensation? The full value of their equity over their entire vesting period (over years) included? I always thought it was how much you're making each year, so if you have 100k in rsu that vests over 4 years, so averaging it at 25k per year, you only add 25k of your equity to your tc. That, and also, anything company pays for, so health insurance and stuff, too.
I am dividing the RSU provided over 4 years to reach the figure I have quoted. RSU, sign on, Annual and quarterly bonus are the only things you add on top of base to get the TC. Don't think health insurance etc. is added when people calculate TC.
I was a G8 at Intel that too with only 6 months of useless work experience. I have a whole lot of post Doctoral experience which is not relevant so I don't get a whole lot of interview calls to begin with. So I am happy with whatever I got.
So you were hired directly at G8 to Intel? Also is the new level really low?
If you have both offers. Pick AMD.
Should know by next week but yeah, I am also drifting towards AMD.
I bet AMD rsu will go up by a lot in the long run, relatively speaking
