ebay or T-Mobile UX?
im currently a ux designer at ebay and recently got an offer from T-Mobile. T-mobile offer is a bit better than my current role but im not sure if i should make the switch because eBay is more of a tech company and the recent design leadership change seems promising at eBay. eBay also has a great company culture but im not sure about T-Mobile. Any thought? thanks #design #interviews

eBay is any time better than TMobile.. there is a lot of internal politics .. if you can handle and enjoy playing then TMO might be ok .. if you want good professional life, will suggest to go to some tech company not to a operational company like TMo
Work - life balance is great at TMO. Engineering is bad
We definitely need good designers in TMobile. Every company has good and bad side of it.
We definitely do, but the current infrastructure and environment does not support the talent and their growth. Also the TC is really bad to attract good talent.
Re TC, totally agree. The problem is, they hired non tech people on the mid level leaders(directors, Sr directors), they promote people they like, talent remains at the same level until they figure out that they have either leave the team or the company to get to the next level. I have seen a lot of good talent leaving TMo in last 2 years for the same reason. Also, I have seen non good tech people joining team, people who struggled to even collaborate properly. I guess TMo could get them in cheap TC? But TMo is great place for designers.

If you want a good wlb then come over to TMobile. If you want to progress in your career and work on new technologies stay away from it. It is NOT a tech company.
