I feel like I am stagnating in my career and I have been trying very hard to push through it. Where I am currently working, I don’t find many people that share my passion for tech and software engineering. I suspect that it’s likely because I’m in consulting, because I have worked at smaller product companies and did not experience that. Since I am planning to move to the bay area, I’ve started preparing for technical interviews and am making good progress with Leetcode. I have sent out my resume/application to see if I could get any bites, have reached out to recruiters, but I’ve been swiftly rejected on almost all accounts. I think my resume is probably very weak. I am self taught so I dont have a CS degree and that likely hurts me, but I try to make up for it by reading the academics in the evenings after work. I try to stay focused and driven but it gets a little demoralizing after a while of consistent rejection. That being said, I use each rejection as a learning opportunity. Finding a place where I can surround myself with people who are actually interested in solving challenging technical problems is my ultimate goal. What strategies have you guys/gals employed to overcome the constant rejection? And what advice would you all give to someone like myself who wants to stand out from a sea of competitive applicants? Should I pay for a resume review service and maybe some Linkedin profile tuning? I am considering a program like Interckew Kickstart to supercharge my prep and create a better network where I plan to move to. YOE 3 TC 96k #engineering #software #swe
