How does an low-ranking employee at Meta afford a $40 million house? Jacob tours a house priced at $40 million, and his agent says “you can afford it”. She says he “made it big in tech”, so I looked him up, expecting him to be the founder of some cool product. However, his LinkedIn doesn’t say “made it big in tech” at all. According to the dude’s LinkedIn, he has had a bunch of non-tech IC roles in account management and client services at so-so companies and is currently a client service manager at Meta. How tf is someone like this able to afford a $40 million house? I work at Meta too and wonder what I am doing wrong. Outside of the executive team, I can’t see anyone at Meta being able buy a $40 million house without having previously been a founder. I can’t even see VPs bringing in $4+ million being able to afford a $40 million home. Jacob’s LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jacobaustinberman TC $370k
What the hell is selling sunset
I am watching it for the first time at the petition of my girlfriend. https://www.netflix.com/title/80223108
Wow they greenlight any garbage that comes their way
He’s an NFT advisor 🤣 didn’t know we are bragging about scams these days
Good point. Maybe he sold a few NFTs for a lot of money, and that qualified him as “making it big in tech”. 💀 As stupid as it is, he could have made $40 million that way.
Depends on what skills you have. Some skills like investing skills, real estate skills or even skills to do scams make more money than just coding skills?
Yeah, I’m thinking now that the NFTs probably got him there. I wouldn’t keep working at Meta as an IC, though. I’d retire or a go start something cool of my own.
You just don’t know how to save money. Let me tell you a friend who started with 60k TC buying a 10M property. My friend worked so hard every day till midnight since graduation, saving every single penny he earned. No dinning out, no luxury clothes, and of course no luxury travels... not going into details on how hard he was. At the end of the year, he spent his hard saved $30K and his father’s $9.97M on a $10M new build.
He’s likely a fake prospective buyer, reality shows do stuff like that all the time.
You do know they don’t really buy the house in these reality shows right? Also reality shows don’t mean real. They will show a bunch of houses and that’s it. Even if he says I love this house let me buy it , it is all fake .
Dude its a show, these are actors
maybe his family is rich
They make it sound like he is self-made, but this is TV, so 🤷🏼♂️
